Master Thesis Viva in the College of Education for Pure Science entitled ” Effect of using filtering ideas strategy on achievement of fourth secondary class pupils/scientific branch in biology and their awareness of dimensions of sustainable development ”

The College of Education for Pure Science, University of Mosul, has done the Master Thesis Viva entitled ” Effect of using filtering ideas strategy on achievement of fourth secondary class pupils/scientific branch in biology and their awareness of dimensions of sustainable development “,

On Monday, July 3, 2023, the respected Dean of the College, Assistant Professor Dr. Qais Ismail Ibrahim, the Honorable Scientific Associate and Administrative Associate, the Honorable Head of the Department of Biology, and a number of the college’s teachers were attended the viva.

The aim of this study, presented by the M.Sc. Student Imad Mohammed Ayoob Abdullah in the Department of Biology, is to know the effect of using filtring ideas strategy on achievement of fourth secondary class pupils / scientific branch in biology and their awareness of goals of sustainable development .

After the conclusion of experiment , the researcher applied both tools on two groups . after collecting them , data were statistically treated using (spss) system . Results showed :

1-there is a statistically significant difference at (0,05) level between the means of both groups ( experimental and control ) and in favor of experimental group .

2-there is a statistically significant difference at (0,05) level between the means of both groups regarding post application of scale of dimensions of sustainable development and in favor of experimental group

Given these results , the researcher concludes that :

1-filtring ideas strategy affected greatly on raising achievement of fourth secondary class pupils / scientific branch

2-filtring ideas strategy increased pupils awareness to dimensions of sustainable development

Researcher made a number of recommendations :

1-Urging biology teachers to adopt modern methodolgies like the one in discussion to increase achievement

2-Raise quality if teachers both academically and practically through participation in symposiums , conferences and seminars about sustainable development and develop their potentials to transmit them to their pupils.
