The Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Physics at the University of Mosul is a four-year, full-time undergraduate program comprising 240 ECTS credits, aligned with the Bologna Process. The program provides students with a strong foundation in mathematics, fundamental physics, and scientific principles, followed by advanced study in the core disciplines of classical mechanics, electromagnetism, quantum mechanics, thermodynamics, statistical physics, atomic physics, nuclear physics, solid-state physics, and optics. 1. Provide students with a comprehensive scientific education that establishes a strong foundation in mathematics, physics, computational methods, and scientific principles while fostering scientific reasoning, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
2. Prepare graduates for successful professional careers and postgraduate studies by developing their knowledge and ability to analyze physical systems, conduct scientific investigations, perform laboratory experiments, and apply theoretical and computational methods in accordance with internationally recognized scientific standards and ethical practices.
3. Develop students’ technical and practical competencies through laboratory experiments, scientific measurements, computational physics, undergraduate research, and the effective use of modern scientific instruments, specialized software, digital technologies, and analytical tools.
4. Enhance graduates’ communication, leadership, teamwork, and research management skills, enabling them to work effectively in multidisciplinary scientific environments, supervise scientific activities, ensure laboratory quality and safety, and contribute efficiently to research and technological innovation.
5. Promote scientific research, innovation, sustainability, environmental responsibility, laboratory safety, and lifelong learning while preparing competent physicists capable of meeting labor market needs and contributing to scientific discovery, technological advancement, and sustainable community development.

Upon successful completion of the program requirements, graduates are awarded the Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree in Physics by the University of Mosul.
The program is classified at Level 6 of the Iraqi National Qualifications Framework (INQF), or its equivalent, in accordance with the regulations and guidelines of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research (MOHESR).
Admission to the Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Physics program is governed by the regulations and admission policies of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research (MOHESR) and the University of Mosul. Applicants must meet the approved admission criteria for science programs.
To be awarded the Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Physics, students must successfully satisfy all graduation requirements, including:
Successful completion of all 240 ECTS credits, including all compulsory and elective courses specified in the curriculum.
Achievement of the minimum graduation requirements in accordance with the regulations of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research (MOHESR) and the University of Mosul.
Successful completion of all required laboratory work, scientific experiments, computational activities, and other practical components of the program, where applicable.
Successful completion of the Graduation Research Project in accordance with the departmental academic regulations.
Compliance with all academic regulations governing assessment, progression, and graduation as approved by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research (MOHESR) and the University of Mosul.
Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) and transfer of academic credits are considered only in accordance with the regulations and instructions of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research (MOHESR) and the University of Mosul. Any prior learning or equivalent academic achievement shall be evaluated according to the approved institutional procedures and the applicable national regulations.
Upon successful completion of the Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Physics Program, graduates are expected to achieve the following Graduate Outcomes:

Apply knowledge of physics, mathematics, computational methods, and natural sciences to identify, formulate, analyze, and solve scientific and technological problems using appropriate theoretical and experimental approaches.
