A Faculty Members participates in an international conference of Iraqi Society of Soil Mechanics and Geotechnical Engineering
As part of the continuous scientific activities of the faculty members of Department of Civil Engineering, a group of lecturers participated in 2nd international conference of the Iraqi Society of Soil Mechanics and Geotechnical Engineering, which was held at Duhok Technical University in Aqrah District.They are : Prof. Dr. Suhail Idrees Abdulqader Khattab, Asst. Prof. Dr. Moataz A. Al-Obaydi, Dr. Qutayba N. Al-Saffar, Dr. Mohammed N. Jaro, Dr. khawla Ahmed khalil, and Mr. Ahmed Ibrahim Mohammed.Where Prof. Dr. Suhail Idrees chaired the first session of the Conference, at which three lectures were delivered by internationally known professors, chief among them Professor Charles Wang Wai (President of the World Society of Soil Mechanics and Geotechnical Engineering).During the conference, participants were honoured with medals and certificates of appreciation and Prof. Dr. Suhail was honored with the Shield of Excellence for his contribution to the scientific committee of the conference.The conference was successful by attracting for famous persons in the world of geotechnical engineering to give opening lectures that provided the participants with modern scientific information.
