Master Thesis at Department of Civil Engineering on ” Vibration Analysis of Embedded Foundation Subjected to Dynamic Load “

A Master thesis was discussed inDepartment of Civil Engineering / College of Engineering/University of Mosul entitled ” Vibration Analysis of Embedded Foundation Subjected to Dynamic Load ” on Sunday(22/08/2021) submitted by postgraduate student (Abdulrahman Ahmed Najm). The thesisdealt with thestudy of two important parameters through which the foundations of machines can be evaluated in terms ofvertical displacement andresonantfrequencyfor these foundations. The thesis aims to study the effect of the depth of foundation burial in addition to a number of other variables such as the shape and dimensions of the foundations and the ratio of length to width, as well as studying the effect ofdimensionlessfrequencyand the effect of all these variables on thevibrationalmovement. The thesis concluded that there was a decrease in the value of the maximum vertical displacement by the analytical and numerical methods with an increase in the dimensions of the foundation as well as a clear decrease in the maximum displacement calculated by the numerical method with the increase in the depth of burial .The thesis recommended studying other types of phases ofvibrationaldisplacements of thefoundations laid on the surface of the soil. The discussion committee was chaired by Assist. Prof. Dr. Khaled Rasim Mohammed, and its members were Assist. Prof. Thamer Mohammed Noori, Assist. Prof. Amina Ahmed Khalil, Prof. Dr. Bayar Jaafar Mohammed Alsulayvani (1st Supervisor) and Dr. Mohammed N. Jaro (2nd Supervisor).
