Master Thesis at Department of Architecture Engineering on “The Energy-Efficient Rehabilitation Strategies of the interior environments in the educational buildings of the University of Mosul”
A Master thesis was discussed in Department of Architecture Engineering / College of Engineering / University of Mosul, entitled “The Energy-Efficient Rehabilitation Strategies of the interior environments in the educational buildings of the University of Mosul”on Thursday,August26, 2021,submitted by postgraduate student (Raghad Abdullah Ahmed). The thesis dealt with employment of the simulation program (Design Builder) Toassess the state of affairs of university buildings through a sample of buildings at University of Mosul. The study seeks in its chapters to search for strategies to achieve thermal comfort to reduce energy consumption to reach the study’s goal of finding a clear strategy for the rehabilitation of existing university buildings to ensure energy savings and thermal comfort for users by determining the suitable design methods and techniques for university buildings. The Thesis concludes the importance of employing the strategies tested in this study in the existing university buildings to reduce energy consumption as well as achieve the quality of the interior environment. The thesis recommends applying these strategies as they do not require high costs and do not conflict with the structural and aesthetic aspects of the buildings. The discussion committee was chaired by Assist.
