Workshop on “the effect of sulfur hexafluoride (SF6) gas leak used as an insulator”

As a part of the scientific activities of Department of Electrical Engineering, Dr. Dawood Najim Saleh and head of the department, Dr. Ahmed Nasser Alsammak, held a workshop entitled “The Effect of Sulfur Hexafluoride Gas (SF6) Leak of high-pressure equipment on global warming” fortwo days, Nov. 22-23, 2021.The workshop included the following topics :
The First day -Monday:An overview of the composition, properties and harms of SF6 gas and its benefits as an insulator for high pressure equipment, as well as the uses of gas as an insulator for transformers and circuit breakers for medium and high pressure .
As for the second day-Tuesday, it included: Theeffect ofSF6gas leak of electrical power equipment on global warming and its comparison with carbon dioxide gas.Also,SF6gas uses as an insulator for systemsGIS.
