Higher Diploma Research on “Performance Investigation of Optical Nanoantenna Structure”
A Higher Diploma Research was discussed in Department of Electrical Engineering / College of Engineering at University of Mosul entitled “Performance Investigation of Optical Nanoantenna Structure” submitted by (Reem Fawaz Abdulkarim), Supervised By(Asst. Prof. Dr. Mohammad Tariq Yaseen)on Thursday, June 16, 2022.The Research dealt with the nanoantenna composed of metallic nanoparticles is presented focusing on their promising optical properties. In the optical band, the nanoantenna has special features for producing focused, highly-located amplified light with a specific region and wavelengths. This small dimension device for the enhanced light can successfully overcome the diffraction limit, thus achieving the goal of using light at the nanometer scale. This nanoantenna function is demonstrated by a strong localized resonant frequency caused by the light incident on the nanoantenna. The results showed that the enhancement of the near field light generated by the nanoantenna is closely related to the shape and type of the used materials. For a nanoantenna, its shape, length and size are all responsible for its optical performance. The resonant wavelength of the nanoantenna increases with the increase in the length of the antenna. Which means that the resonant frequency of the nanoantenna decreases as the length of the antenna increases. The increase in the length of the antenna leads to a decrease in the value of the signal absorbed by the nanoantenna, and with the increase in the length of the nanoantenna, the reflected signal increases.
