Master thesis on “Investigation the effects of on load tap changing transformer (OLTC) on the Power System Voltage Stability including performance improvement”
A Master thesis was discussed in Department of Electrical Engineering / College of Engineering at University of Mosul entitled “Investigation the effects of on load tap changing transformer (OLTC) on the Power System Voltage Stability including performance improvement” submitted by (Sinan Moayad Ali Alkahdely), Supervised By Assist. Prof. Dr. Ahmed Naser B. Alsammak On Wednesday, Nov. 16, 2022.
In this thesis, the value of the transformer turn ratio will be found with respect to load impedance and transmission line impedance to specify the voltage stability area boundaries. As well as, the positive effect of OLTC was found theoretically and by MATLAB Simulink. Four different ways to prove the OLTC performances in power system were tested for two power systems. The first system was a simple radial power system, and the second was Nenawa power system 400/132 kV. The two systems where simulated in MATLAB Simulink too to prove the suggested curriculum.
