A master thesis was discussed in Architectural Engineering department / College of Engineering at University of Mosul entitled “Contextual Integration in Urban Development Projects” submitted by Esraa Ahmed Mohammed Mosa, under the supervision of Asst.Prof. Mumtaz Hazim Al Dewachi on Thursday, 17/11/2022.
The general problem of the research was determined by the lack of a clear conception about the basic indicators of contextual integration as a general concept in urban development project. Therefore, the goal was to build an information base explaining these indicators that contribute to the achievement of contextual integration. Then invest and employ these indicators and variables in the selected case study in the city center of Erbil, which is the Neshtiman commercial center, In its final conclusions, the research reached to clarify the impact of the construction of Neshtiman Center on the contextual integration of the Erbil Historical Center, and through the basic indicators of this integration, represented by visual integration , functional integration, site integration, and spatial integration. Where some of these indicators had a clear presence, while others were not considered, especially from the aspect of functional integration and some aspects of visual integration.
