Master thesis on “Attribute Selection Technique for Dynamic Security Assessment of Power System”

A Master thesis was discussed in Department of Electrical Engineering / College of Engineering at University of Mosul entitled “Attribute Selection Technique for Dynamic Security Assessment of Power System” submitted by (Mohannad AbdulKhaliq Al-Hubaity), Supervised By Assist. Prof. Dr. Mohammed Ali Al-Rawi as First Supervisor and Dr. Saraa Esmail Khalil as Second Supervisor. On Sunday, Feb. 26, 2023.
A high-quality technology using artificial intelligence was introduced in this thesis, which is the attribute selection technique (AST). To reducing the volume of data and accuracy improve and results speed. This approach depends on combining between (AST) and decision tree (DT) algorithms in the data obtained from simulation of test system (IEEE-30Bus), this method results showed a significant decrease in data numbers used amounting to (77.3%) of total data, this percentage leading to an improvement in classification accuracy, the accuracy reached (97.4%).
The percentage reduction obtained is important when dealing with an online environment operating, this reduction saves the time needed to reach the more accurate decision, thus, it will give a greater chance to take the decision appropriate in the event of a disorders and to maintain the power system in a secure state.
