Advisory Council Meeting in Department of Dams and Water Resources Engineering to Discuss Curriculum and Course Content Prepared for Implementation of Bologna Process

As part of the ongoing efforts to complete the requirements for implementing the Bologna Process in Department of Dams and Water Resources Engineering—specifically concerning the course catalog and curriculum content—the department’s Advisory Council held a meeting on Wednesday, June 21, 2023. The meeting was attended by representatives from relevant public service departments, stakeholders, and members of the department, to discuss the academic content and materials prepared for this process.
The council proposed a number of observations after reviewing the course content and the department’s academic program. These suggestions were based on the insights of experts on the council, who are affiliated with various governmental and professional institutions in the province, such as the Engineers Syndicate, the Mosul Dam Project, the Directorate of Water Resources, and the Mosul Municipality. It is worth noting that many of the department’s graduates are currently employed by these institutions. The council believes that the feedback documented in this meeting aims to enhance the department’s outcomes in a manner that aligns with the expectations of these institutions and the labor market.
The meeting was chaired by Assistant Professor Dr. Anmar Abdulaziz Majeed, Head of the Department of Dam and Water Resources Engineering. Council members included Mr. Basil Rifat Shukur (Mosul Dam Project), Engineer Mohammed Abdul Hamid Abdul Majeed (Nineveh Branch of the Engineers Syndicate), Engineer Thanon Khalil Kamar (Directorate of Water Resources in Nineveh), Engineer Sabri Mohammed Taher (Mosul Municipality), Assistant Professor Dr. Omar Miqdad Abdul Ghani (Department of Dam and Water Resources Engineering), and Lecturer Dr. Ziyad Ayoub Suleiman (Department of Dam and Water Resources Engineering).
