PH.D dissertation was discussed in Department of Electrical Engineering / College of Engineering at University of Mosul entitled, specialize in Electrical Engineering, entitled “Multiple Array Patterns Reconfiguration with Common Excitation Weights Using Optimization Algorithms”, submitted by (Duaa Alyas Karim Ali Aljaf), Supervised By Prof. Dr. Jaffar Rammadan Mohammad On Thursday, Aug, 17, 2023.
The dissertation aimed to Propose methods for the Reconfiguration patterns of multiple antenna arrays with common excitation weights using optimized genetic algorithms are promising approaches for realizing high-performance antenna systems

The dissertation discussed a proposed approach to reconfigure the matrix patterns of multiple antenna arrays with common excitation weights using optimized genetic algorithms (GAs). The proposed methods depend on changing the phase and amplitude of each individual antenna element to produce the appropriate radiation pattern using two strategies to share the common central and outer excitation weights elements. In the optimization process, it is a powerful optimization technique inspired by the natural evolution process, which can be used to search for the optimal combination of antenna weights. Some designs for feeder grid antennas have been printed, Typically, a regular corporate excitation network is used to feed the uniform array elements, with amplitude and phase excitations of 1 and 0, respectively. However, a specific corporate power divider design is required to obtain optimal amplitude and phase values.
The results showed the optimized genetic algorithms effectiveness in reconfiguring multiple antenna array patterns. Simulations and practical application show that the methods are able to achieve the desired radiation patterns with high accuracy while minimizing side-lobe levels and maintaining low levels of cross-polarization.
