College of Engineering

As part of the ongoing series of periodic meetings conducted by departments of College of Engineering with their respective Industrial Advisory Councils—and in line with the standards and requirements for obtaining the Iraqi Engineering Program Accreditation—the second meeting of the Industrial Advisory Council for Civil Engineering Department was held on Wednesday, May 8, 2024.

The meeting agenda centered on three principal topics: the educational objectives of Civil Engineering undergraduate program, the expected learning outcomes of graduates, and the detailed course content across the four academic years.

The session featured extensive discussions aimed at enhancing the competencies of Civil Engineering graduates and addressing the challenges they encounter in the labor market. Participants exchanged insights and recommendations to further align the academic program with industry needs and expectations.

The meeting was attended by Dean of College of Engineering, Professor Dr. Abdulrahim Ibrahim Jasim; Assistant Dean for Scientific Affairs, Assistant Professor Dr. Ayman Talib Hameed; members of the Industrial Advisory Council for the Civil Engineering Department representing various governmental institutions in Nineveh Governorate; as well as a distinguished group of faculty members from the Civil Engineering Department.
