Under the patronage of President of Mosul University Prof. Dr. Kossay Kamalaldeen Al-Ahmady, and supervision of Dean of College of Engineering Prof. Dr. Abdulrahim Ibrahim Jasim, As part of the plan to hold awareness lectures, projects and initiatives to implement the National Strategy to Combat Extremism for the second half of 2024 at College of Engineering on the dissemination of cultural awareness to students in the college in relation to human rights, peacebuilding and combating violent extremism. A workshop was held that included a mentoring lecture by Assistant Prof. Nasma Maan Mohammed (Psychological Counselling and Educational Guidance director) entitled “Confronting intellectual extremism and hate speech” on Wednesday, Oct. 16, 2024.

The workshop aimed to sensitize university students on the importance of spreading cultural awareness to college students in order to establish a common resolve to end hate speech and violent extremism and to confront all forms of violence and the need to spread the spirit of tolerance. At the end, the students’ questions and queries were answered.
