Master thesis in Department of Electrical Engineering on “design of energy harvesting system for wireless sensor networks applications”

A Master thesis was discussed in Department of Electrical Engineering / College of Engineering at University of Mosul entitled “design of energy harvesting system for wireless sensor networks applications”, submitted by (Wisam Anis Younis Mohammed), Supervised by Assist. Prof. Dr. Shamil Hamzah Husein On Thursday, February, 27, 2025.
The thesis presented by, “design of RF energy harvesting system for wireless sensor networks application at 5.8 GHz to present reliable power supply for low power devices”.
The thesis discusses “A reception antenna design using microstrip patch antennas with antenna array and AMC technology was optimized, selecting a 1×4 array for superior performance. A rectifier circuit with a HSMS 2860 Schottky diode was designed for efficient AC to DC conversion, with a matching circuit ensuring maximum power transfer”.

The results showed “The system achieved an efficiency of 71.8%, utilizing a matching circuit composed of LC elements and transmission lines. The rectifier achieved a conversion efficiency of 76.2% at an input power of 22 dBm, with a maximum voltage of 4.3 V at the same input power”.
