Assistant Lecturer Waad Mohammed Ali Abbas, a faculty member in Department of Environmental Engineering / University of Mosul, defended his PhD dissertation entitled:
“Electrode Modification Using Eco-Friendly Nanomaterials to Improve Energy Recovery from Hospitals Wastewater in Microbial Fuel Cell”,
specializing in Environmental Engineering.

The dissertation was submitted to Department of Environmental Engineering at University of Baghdad, under the supervision of Professor Dr. Zainab Ziyad Ismail.

The dissertation aimed to reduce internal resistance in microbial fuel cells in order to enhance energy recovery during wastewater treatment.

The study focused on the use of natural seeds in nanoscale sizes as supportive materials for acid-treated multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs).

Thanks to God, the dissertation was approved after thorough discussion covering various scientific and methodological aspects.
