Master thesis in Department of Electrical Engineering on ” Design an Intelligent Monitoring System to Detect and Diagnose Early Electrical Faults in a Three-Phase Power Transformer “

A Master thesis was discussed in Department of Electrical Engineering / College of Engineering at University of Mosul entitled “Design an Intelligent Monitoring System to Detect and Diagnose Early Electrical Faults in a Three-Phase Power Transformer”, submitted by (Mustafa Thaer Noori Al Jammal), Supervised By Assistant Prof. Dr. Omar Sh. Yehya AL-Yozbaky On Wednesday, August, 27, 2025.
The thesis presented by, “Mustafa Thaer Noori Al Jammal” , aimed “to develop an intelligent system for monitoring and diagnosing transformer faults, particularly internal faults”
The thesis discusses “the internal short circuit faults in the windings, utilizing numerical computer simulation techniques and artificial intelligence to identify such faults”
The results showed “Changes in the electrical and physical harvesting of simulated transformations when faults occur. This essentially begins to train artificial intelligence to diagnose artificial neural networks that excel in clear and accurate registration of faults exceeding (98%).”
The current study is considered one of the sustainable studies to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals, especially Goal 9 “Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure” and Goal 11 “Sustainable Cities and Communities” by developing a smart system to monitor and diagnose transformer faults, especially internal ones.
