College of Engineering

As part of College of Engineering’s commitment to excellence, innovation, and community service, and in preparation for participation in Iraqi Science Day 2026, Dean of the College, Asst. Prof. Dr. Omar Mohammed Hamdoon, accompanied by the scientific and administrative assistants, met with heads of departments and scientific committees on Monday, October 27, 2025.

The meeting emphasized the college’s commitment to directing graduation projects toward quality, creativity, and sustainability, through selecting projects that address real engineering and environmental challenges and align with Sustainable Development Goal 9 (Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure).

Dr. Omar Mohammed Hamdoon stressed that graduation projects reflect the college’s academic identity and standards, calling for innovative, applicable, and interdisciplinary projects that serve the community and can be implemented in collaboration with government and industry sectors.

He announced that the college will support and fund distinguished projects to represent University of Mosul in the University Sustainability Festival and Iraqi Science Day, and that outstanding projects and supervisors will be honored during the Graduation Projects Festival.

The Dean expressed his appreciation to faculty and committees for their efforts in strengthening the college’s academic reputation, affirming that collaboration and innovation are key to achieving lasting scientific and societal impact.
