College of Engineering Honors Its Distinguished Researchers in Support of Innovation and Achievement of Sustainable Development Goals

In line with University of Mosul’s commitment to supporting scientific excellence and innovation, and within the framework of achieving the Sustainable Development Goals, College of Engineering organized, on Wednesday, 17 December 2025, an honoring ceremony for distinguished researchers. The ceremony was held under the patronage of President of University of Mosul, Professor Dr. Waheed Mahmood Al-Ibrahimi, and under the supervision and in the presence of Dean of College of Engineering, Assistant Professor Dr. Omar Mohammed Hamdoon.

The ceremony was attended by members of the College of Engineering Council and a number of faculty members.

The event commenced with a welcoming speech delivered by Dean of the College, in which he expressed his pride in the research efforts exerted by the faculty members and their pioneering role in enhancing the College’s academic and research standing.

During the ceremony, certificates of appreciation and symbolic gifts were awarded to the distinguished researchers who presented high-quality scientific research published in peer-reviewed academic journals.

This activity comes in line with the College of Engineering’s commitment at University of Mosul to achieving several Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly:

  • Goal 4: Quality Education

  • Goal 17: Partnerships for the Goals

College of Engineering affirms that this honoring is not merely a celebration of achievement, but rather a message of support and motivation for every researcher striving to serve science and society, and that the College will continue to foster a culture of innovation within its strategic vision aligned with sustainable development plans.
