A master’s thesis at University of Mosul discusses ( Study of Wetting Front Advance of linear Subsurface Drip Source )

A master’s thesis in Department of Dams and Water Resources Engineering at the University of Mosul discusses ( Study of Wetting Front Advance of linear Subsurface Drip Source ) by the student (AbdulGhani Khalaf Mohammed) on Tuesday 10/11/2020.
The thesis included a study of theeffect of thedifference insoiltexture, the initial humidity, and the depth of the spotted on the characteristics of the wet pattern and the change of the dripping drainage over time, as well as the study of the moisture distribution within the wet soil. also it included thedevelopment of anexperimental study relationships to guess theactual Dotted discharge as well as wettability patterns in all directions.Program performance was also verifiedHydrusIn simulating wet patterns.
The thesis concludedthat thedrainage of the subsurface dripper gradually decreases with the continuation of the addition time due to the increase in the positive pressure at the drainage opening and this decrease increases with the increase in the clay content in the soil, the depth of the dripper and the initial soil moisture. The study also showed that the volume of wet soil resulting from adding a certain volume of water increases with the increase of the initial humidity of the soil and the increase in the depth of the drip, while the volume of wet soil decreases by increasing the content of clay in the soil. The study also showedthatthere is a good agreement between the results oflaboratoryexperimentswith each of the estimated values from the experimental relationships and those estimated from the simulation program(Hydrus ).
The thesis recommendedtheneed totest theeffect of theaddition ofintermittent water and change theoperational pressure on theshipment pattern wettability and thedistribution ofmoisture and change under thesurface discharge dripper homogeneous soils and soilsstratigraphywith theneed tochoose soils withtexture differ from those adopted in thepresent study. The discussion committee consistedof:
1. Asst. Prof. Dr. Issam Mahmood Ibrahim … (Chairman).
2. Asst. Prof. Dr. Younis Mohammed Hasan … ( Member ).
3. Dr. Ahmed Ali Mohammed Al-Ogaidi …. ( Member ).
4. Asst. Prof. Intisar Mohammed Ghazal … ( member and supervisor ).Then the discussion committee read the decision which included acceptance the thesis and award the student a master degree.
