Master thesis at Department of Civil Engineering on “Numerical Simulation of the Grout Curtain Efficiency in Mosul Dam Foundations”

A Master thesis was discussed in Department of Civil Engineering/College of Engineering/University of Mosul, entitled “Numerical Simulation of the Grout Curtain Efficiency in Mosul Dam Foundations”on Wednesday, Sep. 8, 2021 submitted by postgraduate student (Mohammed Khalid Ibrahim Fattah). The thesis aims to create numerical models for three cross-sections of the dam body with the geological layers of the foundations and analyze them based on the finite element method using (Geo Studio-2018) program To simulate theconditions ofdeposition occurring in theMosul Dam foundations and thestudy of thedistribution ofwater pressure tuff on both sides of thecurtain Overstuffing to identify the impact ofsites sensing devices(Peso meters)for the curtain overstuffing in theamount of theefficiency of thecurtain and theamount ofnet pressure aggravated users in assessing theperformance ofcurtain overstuffing. The thesis reached that site (peso meters) have a clear impact in theamount ofefficiency as theresults showed that theamount ofefficiency and theamount ofnet pressure tightened along thedepth arechanging curtain overstuffing and that theamount ofchange between(10-30) %.
