Under the patronage of the Rector, Prof. Dr. Kossay Kamalaldeen Al-Ahmadi, Department of Civil Engineering at College of Engineering held its first scientific symposium for the academic year 2021-2022 in cooperation with Directorate of of Nineveh Province Municipalities entitled “Utilizing the waste of buildings and factories in civil engineering to provide a clean environment and reduce energy” on Sunday, March 06, 2022.The symposium was attended by Eng. AbdulWahab Sultan (Assistant of Nineveh Governor for Reconstruction Affairs), Eng. Raad Al-Hadidi (Director of Nineveh Municipalities), Prof. Dr. Bayar Jaafar Al- Sulaiyvani (Dean of the College), Prof. Dr. AbdulRahim Ibrahim Jasim (Head of Civil Engineering Department), heads of scientific departments of the College and lecturers of the Department.The symposium included two scientific sessions and discussed many scientific and strategic lectures in management of building waste and the employment of modern technologies to benefit from them in reconstruction of the city of Mosul.The lectures also focused on explaining the concept of providing the best engineering performance, less pollution, providing a sustainable environment, and trying to reduce energy consumption in waste management.
