Master thesis on “Factors effecting on the stretch bending limit ratio for sheets metals”
A Master thesis was discussed in Department of Mechanical Engineering / College of Engineering at University of Mosul entitled “Factors effecting on the stretch bending limit ratio for sheets metals” submitted by (Yousif Salim Mahmood), Supervised By Assist. Prof. Amer Yahya Mohammed Aljarjees and Dr. Anas Obaid Edrees On Tuesday, Dec. 22, 2022.
In this study, the SS304and SS316 alloy steel sheets were formed using the bending-stretch forming process experimentally by making a die, sheet holder and a punch with a V-shaped head. Also, the effect of the punch radius on the formability was studied by forming of sheet with two types of punches with radii (5 and 10 mm) in order to change the forming path for sheet specimen into paths that allow the sheet specimen to improve sheet formability. The impact of the sheet specimen dimensions used in the bending-stretching process on the formability of sheet was also studied via changing the specimen sheet width. On the theoretical analysis, a numerical model of the bending- stretch forming process was made numerically using the finite element method represented by Comsol software,
The discussion committee consisted of “Prof. Haitham Mohammed Wadallah as Chairman, Ass.Prof. Saad Z.Saeed as a member, Ass.Prof. Ammer Y. Mohammed as a member, Dr. Omer D. Jumaa as a member and Dr. Anas O. Edrees as a member and supervisor.”
Then the decision of the discussion committee was read and included the acceptance of the thesis with granting the student a master’s degree.
