Workshop on “Engineering Problem Analysis and Decision Making” at College of Engineering – University of Mosul

As part of the activities of the Career Development, Employment, and Follow-Up Unit at College of Engineering, University of Mosul, a workshop entitled “Engineering Problem Analysis and Decision Making” was held on Sunday, October 19, 2025.
The workshop was conducted within the framework of the National Strategy for Education and Higher Education, under the theme “Culture of Participation in Decision-Making.” It targeted fourth-year students from all departments of the college, aiming to enhance their skills and prepare them to handle future professional challenges.
The workshop was presented by Assistant Professor Dr. Ayman Talib Hameed, Assistant Dean for Scientific Affairs, and Lecturer Dr. Muyasar Idrees Ismail, Head of Career Development, Employment, and Follow-Up Unit at College of Engineering.
The session included an explanatory lecture on the mechanisms of analyzing engineering problems, identifying their root causes, and applying scientific approaches to effective decision-making in professional environments. Real-world engineering examples were also discussed to highlight the importance of systematic thinking in solving problems.
The workshop aimed to strengthen students’ critical and creative thinking abilities and encourage them to adopt analytical approaches to address practical challenges after graduation.
At the conclusion of the session, emphasis was placed on the importance of such workshops in preparing students for the labor market and enhancing their personal and professional skills.
