Training Course by the Psychological Counseling Unit at College of Engineering – University of Mosul on (Communication Skills and Positive Influence on New Students to Develop Teaching Staff Competencies)

As part of the scientific activities of College of Engineering at University of Mosul, and in line with its efforts to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly Goal 4: Quality Education, the Psychological Counseling Unit at the college, in cooperation with the University Psychological Counseling Department, organized a training course titled “Communication Skills and Positive Influence on New Students to Develop Teaching Staff Competencies” for the period from November 2 to November 6, 2025. The course targeted faculty members who teach first-year students at the College of Engineering.

The course aimed to enhance effective communication skills among faculty members by training them to use clear and impactful communication techniques that ensure effective delivery of educational messages.

Lectures were delivered by Dr. Abdulaziz Abdulbasit Mohammed (course supervisor and lecturer), Asst. Prof. Dr. Saddam Mohammed Ahmed, and Lecturer Noor Idris Abdulqader.

The program covered topics such as an introduction to effective academic communication, communication tools and influence strategies, building positive motivation, and managing challenges and conflicts, concluding with an assessment test to evaluate participants’ performance.
