College of Environmental Sciences

Under the patronage of Professor Dr. Wahid Mahmoud Al-Ibrahimi, President of the University of Mosul, and under the supervision of Assistant Professor Dr. Yusra Majeed Al-Shaker, Dean of the College of Environmental Sciences, the College of Environmental Sciences / Department of Environmental Health, in cooperation with Al-Noor Private University and the Department of Studies and Planning / Sustainable Development Unit in the Presidency of the University of Mosul, is holding a scientific symposium entitled “Human Right to a Sustainable Healthy Environment”, for the period from March 19-20, 2025 in the Scientific and Literary Forum Hall at our university.

Symposium topics:
1. The legal and legitimate framework for the human right to live in a safe and healthy environment.
2. Sustainable environmental management for a healthy environment.

Symposium objectives:
1. Activating the role of the state in implementing environmental laws to ensure a safe environment for citizens.
2. Encouraging the service effort of Nineveh Governorate in achieving the third goal of sustainable development (to ensure a healthy life and promote well-being for all at all ages).
3. Enhancing citizen awareness in bearing responsibility for preserving the environment.

4. Applying the role of health control in supervising all facilities related to human health.

5. Spreading environmental health culture among children in kindergartens, schools and universities.
