The Iraqi show, Firewood Rituals, wins two awards at an international festival in the Arab Republic of Egypt.
The University of Mosul delegation participating in the Fifth International Theater Festival for Southern Youth held in the Arab Republic of Egypt from March 1-6, 2024 won two awards, the first of which was the Best Play Text Award, which went to the Iraqi playwright Ibrahim Kolan, and the Best Actor Award to the artist and lecturer Wissam Barbar. The participating Iraqi delegation also received a certificate of appreciation for the State of Iraq, which was received by the head of the participating delegation, Professor Dr. Nashat Mubarak Saliwa, Dean of the College of Fine Arts.
The play “Firewood Rituals” is a joint production between the University of Mosul / College of Fine Arts and the Qaraqosh Theater Troupe for Acting.
