College of Fine Arts

The Department of Theater Arts at the College of Fine Arts at the University of Mosul participated in the University Theater Festival, held in Kirkuk Governorate from April 13 to 17, 2025. The festival was organized by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research – Scientific Supervision and Evaluation Authority / Student and Artistic Activities Department.
The festival saw widespread participation from various Iraqi universities, featuring more than 33 theatrical performances representing public and private universities in Iraq, giving the event a distinctive competitive and creative character.
The University of Mosul achieved a remarkable accomplishment, winning second place among participating universities and receiving the Best Scenography Award, an achievement that adds to the Department of Theater Arts’ long record of excellence and giving.
On this occasion, the Dean of the College of Fine Arts, Professor Dr. Nashat Mubarak Saliwa, commended the efforts of the theater team, commending their active participation, and wishing all students and participants continued success and excellence.
