“A Rehearsal for the Fall of Baghdad” on stage during the third day of the Theatre Arts Department Festival

The Department of Theater Arts at the College of Fine Arts continued its performances as part of the annual festival. On Tuesday, April 22, 2025, it presented the play “A Rehearsal for the Fall of Baghdad,” written by Nahed Al-Ramadan and directed by student David Zakkar Toma.
Participating in the performance were students Sarah Amer, Dalia Ziad, Nabaa Mohammed, Asmaa Amer, Jocelyn Sinan, Mira Basil, and Rabie Ismat, who delivered a distinguished performance that reflected the seriousness and professionalism in their handling of the text and the issue.
The performance embodied the theme of war and its woes, and the pain and division it leaves behind among loved ones, highlighting the sacrifices made by people in defense of their dignity and that of their homeland in a time torn apart by conflict.
The festival concludes on Wednesday, April 23, 2025, amidst an artistic atmosphere brimming with creativity and enthusiasm, reflecting the advanced level reached by the department’s students and their dedication to presenting theatrical works with a profound human and social character.
