The College of Fine Arts holds a specialized lecture on visual forgery and artificial intelligence.

In the presence of Professor Dr. Hamid Ibrahim Al-Rashidi, Dean of the College of Fine Arts, along with his assistants for scientific and administrative affairs, Jalal Jamil Hall hosted a specialized awareness lecture on Monday, February 16, 2026, entitled “Visual Forgery and Artificial Intelligence,” held in cooperation with the Nineveh Security Directorate.
The workshop, presented by a number of National Security Service officers and targeted at the college’s faculty and staff, aimed to shed light on modern artificial intelligence technologies and how they are exploited in “deepfake” operations. The topics included a comprehensive explanation of mechanisms for detecting fabricated visual content, as well as technical and legal methods for protection against electronic blackmail and informational misinformation. Furthermore, the attendees actively engaged, enriching the lecture through inquiries and discussions, and emphasizing the necessity of continuing such workshops and lectures to enhance societal awareness regarding modern digital risks and to achieve Sustainable Development Goal 16: “Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions.”
