The spirit of belonging is renewed at the College of Science – University of Mosul

Believing that love of Homeland is an act of belonging, and instilling values begins with instilling hope in the Earth and hearts, manifestations of pride and loyalty to the homeland were renewed today at the Faculty of science – Mosul University, coinciding with the anniversary of the Iraqi National Independence Day.
Under the patronage of the president of the University of Mosul, prof. Dr. Wahid Mahmoud Brahimi, and under the supervision of the dean of the College of science, prof. Dr. Hiyam Adel Ibrahim, the women’s Affairs Committee at the College organized a special activity in cooperation with the Department of studies and Planning / Sustainable Development Unit, and the women’s affairs unit, and with the active participation of the volunteer science team.
The activity included planting trees in the gardens of the deanship and the Departments of the College in the name of Iraq, distributing Iraqi flags and awareness brochures to enhance the spirit of citizenship and belonging, and consolidating the value of joint work in order to build a secure and prosperous Iraq for future generations.
This activity was held on Thursday morning (October 2, 2025) at ten o’clock, in line with the Sustainable Development Goals by:
Climate action through afforestation and environmental conservation.
Good health and well-being (Good Health and well-being) by spreading community awareness.
Peace, justice and strong institutions (Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions) by spreading the values of cooperation and belonging.
The anniversary of national independence is not just a historical occasion, but a renewed message to generations that the homeland is being built with the help of its sons, flourishes with their efforts and solidarity, and restores its glory with their faith and sincerity.
And every year, our beloved Iraq is more powerful and uplifting… and our students and dear children will always give and succeed.
