A master’s thesis at the College of Archeology discussing (the contents of structural cuneiform texts in Mesopotamia in light of the writings of the third millennium BC)

The Department of Ancient Iraqi Languages at the College of Archaeology at the University of Mosul discussed the master’s thesis entitled (Contents of structural cuneiform texts in Mesopotamia in light of the writings of the third millennium BC) on Thursday, September 21, 2023, in the hall of Dr. Behnam Abu Al-Soph in the college and part of it was attended by Assistant Professor Dr. Yasser Jaber Khalil/ Assistant Dean for Scientific Affairs, Assistant Lecturer Khalis Abdul Karim Farman/ Assistant Dean for Administrative Affairs, and a number of college staff.

The study presented by the student (Haseeb Ibrahim Muhammad) dealt with the contents of constructive cuneiform texts in Mesopotamia during the third millennium BC as it witnessed a cultural turning point in the history of Mesopotamia as it recorded important social and economic changes and developments as well as the growth of the intellectual and emotional dimensions.

The study shed light on everything related to the cuneiform construction works of the kings of Mesopotamia during the third millennium BC, and included religious and secular architecture, military and civil architecture, Sumerian and Akkadian.

The study aims to study the cuneiform structural implications of religious, secular, military and civil architecture during the third millennium BC.

The discussion/ viva committee was chaired by Assistant Professor Dr. Yasmine Abdel Karim Muhammad Ali/ Dean of the College of Archeology/ University of Mosul and the membership of Assistant Professor Dr. Shaima Ali Ahmed and Dr. Ahmed Kazem Dhaher Al-Zubaidi/ General Authority for Antiquities and Heritage/ Department of Investigations and Excavations/ Excavations Department and under the supervision and membership of Assistant Professor Dr. Muhammad Hamza Hussein.
