Under the direct supervision of Professor Dr. Yasmin Abdulkarim Mohammed Ali, Dean of the College of Archaeology, the Student Activities Division at the college, in cooperation with the Student Activities Department at the University of Mosul and the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences, organized a football tournament for students in the morning and evening programs, as well as faculty and staff. The matches were played in a league format, and the third-year team of students, college, and staff qualified for the final match. The final match took place on Tuesday, January 27, 2026, at the covered stadium of the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences/Team Sports Branch. The match ended in a 1-1 draw, leading to a penalty shootout, which the third-year student team won.

A closing ceremony was held after the match, during which medals and trophies were awarded to both teams. The Dean of the College of Archaeology, the Vice Deans for Academic and Administrative Affairs, the heads of the academic departments, and several administrative staff members from the College of Archaeology were present. Also in attendance were the Vice Dean for Administrative Affairs from the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences and the Head of the Student Activities Department.
