Meeting of the Deans’ Committee of Archaeology colleges in Iraqi Universities

On Saturday, May 31, 2025, the College of Archaeology, University of Kufa, hosted the regular meeting of the Deans’ Committee of Archaeology colleges, chaired by Professor Dr. Yasmin Abdul Karim Muhammad Ali, Dean of the College of Archaeology, University of Mosul. The meeting was attended by deans and representatives of the archaeology colleges at the University of Dhi Qar and Al-Qadisiyah. They were received by the Dean of the College of Archaeology, University of Kufa, Professor Hamid Mustafa Al-Yasiri. The meeting discussed several priorities aimed at activating and sustaining archaeological and academic work, including amending the curricula of the approved undergraduate studies at the archaeology faculties and departments to include the specializations of archaeology and tourism sciences in the Bologna Process for the academic year (2025-2026), accepting students from vocational institutes and secondary schools, and expanding evening studies to meet the growing demand in the labor market and allowing a greater number of students to enroll in the archaeology faculties. They will benefit from the services they provide to preserve tangible and intangible antiquities and stimulate tourism. The Deans’ Committee expressed its Thank them for the support provided by the Deanship of the college of Archaeology and the University Presidency in order to provide the community with young energies in the field of undergraduate and graduate studies and community service.
