The Sustainable Development Unit at the University of Mosul Visits the College of Archaeology

On Sunday morning, December 7, 2025, a delegation from the Studies and Planning Department/Sustainable Development Unit at the University of Mosul visited the College of Archaeology. The delegation was received by Professor Dr. Yasmin Abdulkarim Mohammed Ali, Dean of the College, and Assistant Professor Dr. Yasser Jaber, Associate Dean for Scientific Affairs, along with officials from the Media and Government Communication, Studies and Planning, and Sustainable Development departments, as well as the website administrator and the college’s Sustainable Development Liaison Officer. The two sides discussed mechanisms for strengthening institutional work to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals. The visit also focused on a field visit to observe the work of the Studies and Planning Department at the college, reviewing annual implementation plans, and exploring ways to improve performance to ensure the efficient implementation of these goals. They also discussed development proposals aimed at enhancing the quality of academic and research outputs, which in turn will strengthen the University of Mosul’s standing in global rankings.
This visit is part of a series of field visits conducted by the Sustainable Development Unit at the University of Mosul to monitor the implementation of national and international sustainable development strategies within the university environment.
At the end of the visit, the visiting delegation praised the outstanding efforts made by the Deanship of the College of Archaeology, along with the Departments of Studies and Planning and Media and Government Communication, and their endeavor to achieve the vision of sustainable development and implement it on the ground.
