A master’s thesis at the Department of Arabic Language, on: (The Linguistic Differences of Words Indicating Speech in the Holy Qur’an, a Phonetic study)

 

A master’s thesis at the Department of Arabic Language at the College of Arts, entitled: (The Linguistic Differences of words indicating Speech in the Holy Qur’an, a Phonetic Study) was discussed on Tuesday, September 19th, 2023, at Al-Salam Hall in the College of Arts, with the attendance of a number of the Department teachers as well as postgraduate students.

The study, presented by Khalil Hassan Khalil, aimed at searching for the linguistic differences between the words indicating speech in the Holy Qur’an in terms of the sounds that make up each word. This includes researching their indications and analyzing their sounds to reach what distinguishes each word indicating speech. As compared to another, relying in explaining this phonetic difference on the extent to which these sounds fit the meaning indicated by the utterance; This will clearly highlight the difference between this word and that, as well as the reason why the Qur’an uses it in this place compared to other words.
