Master’s thesis in the College of Computer Science and Mathematics – Department of Computer Science

The Dean of the College, Prof. Dr. Duha Bashir Abdullah, chaired the discussion of a master’s thesis at the College of Computer Science and Mathematics at the University of Mosul on Tuesday 10/19-2021 entitled “Detecting Forgery Document Using Spectroscopy: A Network-Base d Model.”
For the student Alaa Amjad Saleh Muhammad and under the supervision of the assistant professor, Dr. Basem Muhammad MahmoudThe thesis presented by the student dealt with the employment of modern methods in the field of computer science in the field of digital forensics. Where the student’s thesis is an applied integration of different scientific fields. The thesis aimed to develop modern methods based on the concepts of complex networks and use them in detecting forgery in documents. The method proposed in this thesis is very accurate as it is based on digitally converting documents into their atomic spectra, and then converting these spectra into complex networks and employing algorithms clustered with them to distinguish authentic documents from forged documents. One of the applications of the letter is that it can be relied upon in criminal courts, as its results can be adopted as evidence to verify the authenticity of documents. Finally, this thesis is the first practical experience in the harmony of the majors of criminality and computer science (digital forensics). The discussion committee was chaired by Prof. Dr. Duha Bashir Abdullah Al-BazzazAnd the membership of each of the Assistant Professor Dr. Firas Sabbar Muften, University of Dhi Qar – College of Education for Pure Sciences – Department of Computers, and Assistant Professor Dr. Ahmed Sami Al-Nouri, under the supervision and membership of the teacher, Dr. Basem Muhammad Mahmoud
