Discussion of a higher diploma thesis in the College of Computer Science and Mathematics – Department of Computer Science entitled (An uncomplicated algorithm based on statistical methods to improve the contrast of gray and color images)A diploma thesis was discussed at the College of Computer Science and Mathematics at the University of Mosul on Thursday, 23-12-2021. Zuhair Qais Al-Amin.The thesis presented by the student dealt with the use of different statistical methods with digital image processing methods to form an efficient algorithm to improve the contrast of digital images. The study dealt with the use of statistical methods such as Coomaraswamy method, logistic distributions and normalization, in addition to the hyperbolic tangent equation and logarithmic image processing method.The study aims to present an uncomplicated, fast and high-performance algorithm to improve the contrast of low-contrast digital images.
