Titled (Lie detection using facial micro-expression)

In continuation of the scientific research movement and the follow-up and presence of the Dean of the Faculty of Computer Science and Mathematics, Prof. Dr. Duha Bashir Abdel Allah

The master’s thesis in computer science for the student ( Zeina Tariq Muhammad )was discussed in the discussion hall at the College of Computer Science and Mathematics at the University of Mosul on 29-8-2024, under the supervision of Assistant Professor Dr. Ilaf Osama Abdul Majeed

• The thesis submitted by the student dealt with finding the best way to detect lies in video clips and classify them using computer vision and artificial intelligence techniques.
• The study also touched on the use a set of filters to extract facial features and then use machine learning for classification.
• The study aims to find the best way to detect lies in remote interviews and criminal investigations as well as in psychiatric clinics, in addition to the possibility of using them in several fields, as we consider an applied study (It was applied to two types of data sets, the first is the University of Miami data set and the second is the set that was registered at the University of Mosul – College of Computer Science and Mathematics, Department of Computer Science for third-year students).
