Discussion of the master’s thesis in the College of Computer Science and Mathematics -Department of Statistics and Informatics Department entitled:
“Robust Clustering of High Dimensional Climate Data”
In continuation of the scientific research movement and with the follow-up and presence of the Dean of the College of Computer Science and Mathematics
Respected Professor Dr. Duha Bashir Abdullah
Master’s thesis by Marwan Myasar Mahmood Al-Hyali
supervised by: Assis. Prof. Dr Bashar Abdul-Aziz Majeed Al-Talib
The study addressed: The thesis addressed the analysis of climate data for the Mosul city for the period 2013-2022, using a modern high-dimensional data analysis methodology, specifically the Clustering Variables Around Latent Components (CLV) method.
This thesis includes: The thesis explored the application of the CLV methodology to climate data for the first time, a technique previously used in sensory studies. It also investigated the identification of noisy climate variables and employed sampling techniques such as bootstrap to assess the stability of climate clusters.
The study aims: The thesis aimed to enhance understanding of hidden climate patterns that support adaptation to increasing climate changes.
