PhD thesis of Herman Youssef Ibrahim Mohamed
PhD thesis defense in the College of Computer Science and Mathematics – Department of Computer Science
(Intelligent Cyber Deception Model Based on Software Defined Network)
Discussed in the discussion hall of the College of Computer Science and Mathematics at the University of Mosul on Sunday, 19/1/2025
PhD thesis of Herman Youssef Ibrahim Mohamed under the supervision of Assistant Professor Dr. Najla Badie Ibrahim Khalil
The student’s thesis addressed sophisticated and difficult to detect cyberattacks that represent threats associated with software-defined networks (SDN) that create obstacles to the development of new models and require innovative security measures.
The study touched on the proposal of a mechanism for detecting exploration attacks using artificial intelligence as a counter-step, where the honey jar was integrated to lure attackers through the provision of fake services and used as a mechanism to activate the detection mechanism when necessary, and a model of mobile target technology (MTD) was presented as a cybersecurity mechanism that combines the mixing of IP and topology of the honeypot as well as nodes.
