Under the patronage of the President of the University of Mosul, Prof. Dr. Wahid Mahmoud Al-Ibrahimi, and under the supervision of the Dean of the College of Computer Science and Mathematics, Prof. Dr. Dhuha Bashir Abdullah, the College of Computer Science and Mathematics / Department of Media and Government Communication at the University of Mosul held an awareness workshop entitled “Sustainable Development is a Pillar for Reducing Illegal Immigration” on Tuesday, February 25, 2025.

The workshop aimed to identify the role of sustainable development in reducing illegal immigration through several matters, including comprehensive planning, cooperation, partnerships, training, capacity building, sustainable financing, monitoring, evaluation, awareness, education, and orientation towards innovation and the use of artificial intelligence for its important role in analyzing data, improving security and safety, supporting economic development, and enhancing international cooperation.

The workshop addressed the penalties resulting from illegal immigration, including arrest, deportation, imprisonment, financial fines, entry bans, penalties for smugglers, impact on the future, and impact on the family.
