Holding a lecture entitled: “Raising social awareness among university students on how to deal with people with disabilities”

Under the patronage of the respected President of the University of Mosul, Professor Dr. Wahid Mahmoud Al-Ibrahimi, and under the supervision of the Dean of the College of Computer Science and Mathematics, Professor Dr. Duha Bashir Abdullah, the College of Computer Science and Mathematics, Department of Psychological Counseling and Educational Guidance, held a lecture entitled: “Raising Social Awareness among University Students on How to Deal with People of Determination” on Tuesday 4/3/2025, delivered by Prof. Dr. Ghada Mu’ayyad Rashid and Assistant Dr. Ikhlas Abdul Jabbar Sultan at ten o’clock in the morning.
The lecture aimed to explain the general principles in dealing with people of determination:
The principle of equality:
That the disabled have equal rights like the rest of the segments of society, and that neglecting those rights and excluding the disabled from social life may lead to dire social and economic consequences. Therefore, the need has become urgent to provide the disabled with equal and basic rights from humanitarian considerations as well as from social and economic principles.
The principle of support:
Support is participation in which people have a shared responsibility to support each other, especially those who need help, by sharing resources and transferring them between groups based on need.

Participation or integration requires recognizing the ability of people with disabilities to meet their needs, aspirations and goals in life
