Holding an educational and guidance seminar entitled “Combating extremism, rumours and incitement of discord among students and ways to address them”

The President of Mosul University, Professor Wahid Al-Ibrahimi, hosted a seminar titled “Combating Extremism, Rumors, and Incitement of Sedition among Students and Ways to Address Them” on Tuesday, March 11, 2025, under the supervision of the Dean of the College of Computer Science and Mathematics, Professor Duha Abdullah. The College of Computer Science and Mathematics at the University of Mosul, in cooperation with the Nineveh Security Center and Institutes/Combating Extremism, organized an educational seminar entitled “Combating Extremism, Rumors, and Incitement of Sedition among Students and Ways to Address Them.” Presented by the Counter-Extremism Officer at the Nineveh Security Directorate, Professor Dr. Ghada Rashid Mu’ayyad, Lecturer Dr. Muhammad Qasim Yahya, and Teacher Enaam Ghanem Saeed. The seminar addressed the fact that extremism, rumors, and the incitement of sedition are influences that weaken societies, particularly affecting students, who are the future of society. These influences can contribute to the family, educational institutions, and society as a whole. Combating extremism, involvement, and the incitement of sedition among students bears an additional responsibility, in addition to the efforts of all members of society. By enhancing awareness of the community and effective oversight, a healthy environment can be created. Together, we can build a conscious generation capable of distinguishing between truth and deception and rejecting all forms of extremism and violence. The seminar’s signature theme is: The causes of the spread of extremism and rumors among students, the causes of extremism and rumors, and the effects of sedition among students, and ways to address extremism, rumors, and the effects of sedition among students.
