Defense of the Higher Diploma Thesis in the College of Computer Science and Mathematics – Department of Computer Science entitled:
)Utilization Of Parallel Processing Concept to Reduce the Execution Time of Pixel-Based Machine Learning Classification Algorithms)

On Sunday 6/4/2025, the higher diploma thesis (applying the concept of parallel processing to reduce the implementation time of machine learning algorithms based on pixel classification) was discussed in the discussion hall of the College of Computer Science and Mathematics at the University of Mosul under the supervision of Assistant Professor Dr. Muhammad Jagan Younis.

The thesis submitted by the student dealt with the concept of parallel processing as an effective tool in improving the efficiency of the implementation of machine learning algorithms in terms of reducing the execution time of pixel-based algorithms used in this thesis.
The study touched on the use of the Parfor function in the Matlab environment to distribute calculations over several cores (Cores), which contributes to accelerating the implementation of pixel classification algorithms, and the performance of parallel processing was compared with sequential processing in terms of speed and efficiency.
The study aims to provide software solutions based on parallel processing using the ParFor function to reduce the execution time of pixel classification algorithms without affecting the classification accuracy.
