Discussion of a master’s thesis in the College of Computer Science and Mathematics – Department of Mathematics Sciences entitled:
“Improved conjugate gradient methods for removing noise in digital images“
It was discussed in the discussion room at the Faculty of Computer Science and Mathematics at the University of Mosul on Thursday, 2025/7/10.

In this thesis, the exponential function method was used to find the exact solution to two systems of nonlinear partial differential equations. The first system represents the predator-prey system, which follows an exponential pattern in the growth and decay of the population of both prey and predator species. The second system represents the Drinfel’d–Sokolov–Wilson system, which describes shallow water waves. In addition, the homotopy analysis method was used to solve the predator-prey system and the Drinfel’d–Sokolov–Wilson system. This method gives approximate results for the exact solution. We obtained good results by calculating both the maximum absolute error and the mean square error. The MAPLE program was used to reach these results. Graphs were added to illustrate the results reached in chapters two and three.
