Holding a continuing education course “Matlab Programming Basics”

Under the patronage and supervision of the Dean of the College of Computer Science and Mathematics, Professor Duha Bashir Abdullah, and as part of the college’s academic activities, the college held a series of continuing education courses for the 2025-2026 academic year. This included a continuing education course titled “MATLAB Programming Basics” on Sunday, October 12, 2025, delivered by Assistant Professor Muhammad Ahmad Shihab Al-Kilani and Assistant Professor Ahmad Nazih Al-Khatib.
Course Summary:
The “MATLAB Programming Basics” course aims to introduce participants to the basics of using the MATLAB environment and develop their programming skills for applications in engineering, mathematics, and science. The course focuses on teaching how to manipulate matrices, perform arithmetic operations, use control structures, and write custom functions. The course also covers data handling, reading and writing files, and creating graphs and graphical analysis using the tools available in MATLAB. The course aims to build a solid foundation for participants to apply programming using MATLAB to solve problems in various fields.
Course Objectives:
This course aims to achieve several main objectives, including enabling participants to understand the basics of programming using MATLAB and learning how to manipulate arrays and various data types. The course also aims to develop skills in using control structures such as loops and conditionals, and teach participants how to create custom functions to simplify complex code. Additionally, the course will help participants learn how to analyze data and present results using graphs, enabling them to apply MATLAB to solve practical and scientific problems.
