A scientific workshop entitled: ((The Role of Artificial Intelligence in Promoting and Protecting Human Rights)) was held in cooperation with the Human Rights Division.

Under the patronage and supervision of the Dean of the College of Computer Science and Mathematics, Professor Dr. Duha Bashir Abdullah, and as part of the college’s series of scientific activities, the College of Computer Science and Mathematics, in cooperation with the Human Rights Division at the University of Mosul, is holding a scientific workshop entitled: “The Role of Artificial Intelligence in Promoting and Protecting Human Rights” on Wednesday, October 29, 2025.
Workshop Objectives:
To introduce the vision, mission, and objectives of the Human Rights Division and its affiliated units; to highlight the relationship between artificial intelligence and human rights; to address the ethical and legal challenges associated with artificial intelligence; to establish principles of ethical governance for modern technologies that preserve fundamental individual rights; and to aim at employing artificial intelligence to promote social justice and preserve human dignity and rights.
Abstract:
Artificial intelligence is a powerful tool that can either support or violate human rights, depending on intent, legislation, and oversight. Achieving a balance between innovation and adherence to human values is the true challenge of the digital future.
