The College of Computer Science and Mathematics is holding a scientific workshop on the role of artificial intelligence in reducing the effects of climate change on women.

Under the patronage of the President of the University of Mosul, Professor Dr. Waheed Mahmoud Al-Ibrahimi, and with the supervision and attendance of the Dean of the College of Computer Science and Mathematics, Professor Dr. Duha Bashir Abdullah Al-Bazzaz, and in cooperation with the Women’s Affairs Unit at the University of Mosul, the College of Computer Science and Mathematics held a scientific workshop entitled:
“The Role of Artificial Intelligence in Reducing the Risks of Climate Change Impacts on Women.” The workshop was presented by Dr. Lama Akram Abdullah on Tuesday, November 18, 2025.
The workshop aimed to highlight the unequal impacts of climate change on women by analyzing the social, economic, and structural dimensions that make women more vulnerable to climate risks, especially in fragile communities or those less able to adapt to environmental changes.
The workshop also sought to empower participants to understand the relationship between gender and climate change and to equip them with the knowledge and skills necessary to develop gender-sensitive climate responses that promote the principles of environmental and social justice.
