College of Computer Science and Mathematics

Under the patronage of the President of the University of Mosul, Professor Dr. Waheed Mahmoud Al-Ibrahimi, and with the supervision and attendance of the Dean of the College, Professor Dr. Duha Bashir Abdullah Al-Bazzaz, the Department of Mathematics at the College of Computer Science and Mathematics organized a scientific seminar on Tuesday, November 25, 2025, entitled: “Knowledge Integration between Mathematics and Computer Science: New Visions for the Future.”

The seminar was presented by Professor Dr. Abdul Ghafour Jassim Salem, Head of the Department of Mathematics, Professor Dr. Omar Saber Qasim, and Assistant Professor Dr. Fatima Mahmoud Hassan. They highlighted the role of mathematics in formulating artificial intelligence algorithms and the complementary relationship between mathematics and modern computer architectures, while also presenting research perspectives that support digital transformation.

The seminar aimed to emphasize the importance of this scientific integration and open new research horizons in the field of artificial intelligence, in addition to enhancing students’ analytical thinking skills and linking theory to practical applications. The symposium also recommended strengthening research cooperation between mathematics and computer science, supporting student projects in this field, and encouraging the integration of modern applications into scientific curricula to keep pace with future requirements.
